Fermentalg’s governance structure integrates sustainability at every level, from company culture to strategy and daily operations, through priorities that drive leadership and checks and balances. Under the dual leadership of Philippe Lavielle, Chairman, and Pierre Josselin, CEO, sustainability is a core mandate shaping strategic decisions. This is reflected in performance metrics, where CSR aspects are tied to employee remuneration, including management.
The Board of Directors oversees the integration of social and environmental issues into the strategy. Specialized committees, such as the Audit and CSR Committee and Strategy Committee, monitor progress and ensure that sustainability goals are met across all operations.
This structure, supported by dual materiality, ensures sustainability is embedded into both strategy and execution.

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) provide a universal roadmap to build a more inclusive and sustainable world, one that calls on every actor, from citizens to scientists, to take part in collective progress. In line with these principles, Fermentalg has launched an Ambassadors Program focused on seven SDGs most closely connected to its mission.
Volunteer employees drive initiatives around Good Health and Well-Being, Clean Water, Responsible Production and Aquatic Life, coordinating concrete actions and tracking their impact over time. Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Carbon Footprint analyses, conducted by independent third parties, allow us to steer our environmental impact and shape our 2030 sustainability roadmap.To go further, we have implemented an advanced carbon management platform that helps measure, report and reduce our emissions while enhancing our overall ESG performance. It combines predictive algorithms and automated reporting aligned with European standards, including CSRD, to accelerate our decarbonization journey and turn data into real progress
