DESCRIPTION

As part of its development, the Functional Lipids Business Unit (BU) wishes to improve its formulation processes. The internship subject will be related to the development of processes in order to improve the oxidative stability of algal oils highly concentrated in DHA and to participate in the development of new products.

The candidate will join the process development team within the Functional Lipids Business Unit (BU), which is composed of 13 people, for a minimum period of 5 months (6-month internship or 1-year professionalization contract).

MISSIONS

  • Realization of a bibliographic and scientific survey on the proposed subject
  • Definition of laboratory tests to meet the objectives of the internship
  • Realization of tests on various refining equipments at different scales (laboratory and pilot)
  • Statistical analysis and design of experiments
  • Writing of test reports and syntheses

 

PROFIL & COMPETENCES

  • Are you in your 3rd year of engineering school or Master’s degree in biotechnology, nutrition, process development or agri-food?
  • Concerned about the environment?
  • Mastery of computer tools and numerical calculation?

USP process development engineer (INTERNSHIP)

DESCRIPTION

Under the responsibility of the Functional Lipids Business Unit, you will evolve within the Process Development Platform, which define and optimize the conditions for the bioproduction of molecules of interest, with the aim of achieving the productivity, yield and cost objectives from various projects.

MISSIONS

The internship includes two distinct parts:

  • Improvement of an existing process to increase the performances
  • Evaluation of alternative substrates as culture medium

  • Bibliographic study

  • Culture in benchtop bioreactors (1L to 5L)

Business Development Manager (PERMANENT CONTRACT)

As an expert in research and bio-industrial exploitation of microalgae, Fermentalg’s objective is to offer sustainable solutions and innovative products contributing to the elaboration of healthy, natural and efficient products. Its business: the development, production and marketing of sustainable solutions and active ingredients from microalgae for nutrition, health and the environment. Nutritional lipids, alternative proteins and natural food colorings make up the company’s current and future offer.

Within the framework of a new position within its “Functional Proteins” Business Unit, we are recruiting a Business Development Manager M/F on a permanent contract.

Availability : June 2022

Location : Libourne (33)

Fermentalg has products that meet the mega trends of the current human and animal nutrition market. The aim is to promote these plant proteins to players in the food industry (feed, petfood, aqua, nutra…) by establishing appropriate partnerships with world-class manufacturers and/or distributors.

Reporting directly to the Director of the Protein BU, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for :

– Monitor and analyze the protein market (feed, aqua, nutrition) on a global scale with regard to Fermentalg’s “Product” potential.
– Identify and validate the value proposition of the products in terms of functionality, application and economics on the different market segments
– Identify market needs and tests to be performed (proof of concept, approvals …)
– Identify and contract leads/pilot customers/distributor partners
– Define the product marketing mix
– Define sales support tools and sales pitches
– Define launch plans and communication with sales teams and distributors
– Provide technical support to leads and training to distributors
– Manage external consultants and agencies
– Continuously enrich the BU’s strategic plan
– Be Fermentalg’s ambassador to the Functional Protein ecosystem

 

Profile :

– Food or chemical engineer plus ideally a postgraduate degree in Sales/Marketing.
– 5 years of international experience in operational management or business development of functional ingredients, ideally nutritional
– Proven leadership and interpersonal skills in order to create constructive relationships without hierarchical links with the R&D/Production/Quality/Marketing and Sales teams.
– Entrepreneurial qualities, sense of figures and business, mastery of economic tools,
– Curious, creative, rigorous, organized, proactive and results-oriented
– Business sense, high level of vision, great qualities of analysis and conviction
– Communication skills, both written and oral, ability to defend projects
– Fluent English
– Mobile for travel.
